Brain Train’s Special Education Class is an intensive remediation class for children with learning difficulties, who are unable to gain access or are struggling in a mainstream international school. The class is designed primarily to support children with at least average cognitive functioning, who have fallen behind their same aged peers. The key purpose of the class is to provide intensive remediation by specialist teachers, occupational therapists and speech therapists in order to “close the gap” in the children’s learning enabling them to enter a mainstream school at a later date, with greater confidence and competency in basic skills.
The class is also suitable for children who have an “in principle” acceptance to a school but are waiting for a place to become available in learning support.
Children may attend the programme for a minimum of 1 term to a maximum of 4 years. Review assessments are conducted every 6 months and the Programme Director will assist families in applying to schools when the children’s skill levels have reached an average level for their age.
