While many students and families are referred to Brain Train for the purpose of identifying and addressing educational problems, it is often discovered that there are underlying social, emotional, and/or behavioural implications that are also impacting academic success. Brain Train provides a counselling service to help children, adolescents, and families cope with a wide range of social, emotional, and behavioural issues. Some of these issues, regardless of impact on educational experience include: anxiety (worries); depression (including subsequent impact on self-esteem/self-confidence); attention and behaviour problems (including Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Disorder); school refusal; and issues related to and adapting to new and/or changing environments. Services are also available for adults who may be dealing with similar issues and/or who may want guidance on effective ways to parent their children.
In order to provide comprehensive care to our clients, we collaborate closely with pediatricians/physicians, psychiatrists, nutritionists, early childhood development specialists, and school officials, both locally and abroad. The services provided are a testament to our dedication to promoting the holistic well-being of the individual.
